Please be an active member of the wrestling community
This past week Cael Sanderson surpassed Dan Gable's legendary consecutive win mark,
and he did this as a junior. If he continues he will not only eclipse this record
but shatter it. He is an amazing competitor and true example of a sportsman.
Unfortunately, mainstream media outlets barely noticed.
I've enclosed links to three media outlets that need to be encouraged to cover real
wrestling. NBC Sports and CBS Sportsline both cover pro rasslin but not real
amateur wrestling. Wrestling, real wrestling, is a sport that deserves better
coverage and I'm sure you agree with me on this.
I encourage you to contact the following outlets and explain why each organization
should cover amateur wrestling in a more thorough manner. A wrestler that passively
waits for victory will never get his/her hand raised; the sport of wrestling needs
your support. Please contact these organizations and pass this e-mail on to your
wrestling friends. An active and organized wrestling community will improve the
state of wrestling in this country.

I would suggest that Sportsline begin to cover real amateur wrestling. It is very
disconcerting to me that you cover Pro Wrestling (not a sport and not good for our
society) and choose not to cover real wrestling. This past week Cael Sanderson broke
Dan Gable's consecutive win mark that stood for 30 years yet you didn't cover it? I
would like to know why Sportsline overlooks real wrestling. Please correct this
terrible error! In Wrestling,Ted Witulski, USA Wrestling
