Bandys Overpowers West Lincolnsubmitted by Ronnie Sigmon Tuesday night Bandys were the host in a key 2A match-up. The match pitted the 1A/2A defending state champion Bandys Trojans and the West Lincoln Rebals who were state runner-ups from last season. The match started at 103lbs where Jordan Armstrong (103lbs) and Ryan White (112lbs) got Bandys rolling with pins. Matt Whittle won a hard fought decision at 119lbs putting the Rebals on the score board. West Lincoln's Jack Wombough then scored a decision at 125lbs. Matt Smith scored another pin for Bandys at 130lbs, but the Rebals fought back with Payden Houser scoring a pin for West Lincoln at 135lbs. The 140lbs match featured two state runners-up. In this match Patrick McIntosh defeated Matt Avery in a hard fought match. Bandys then started increasing their lead with a major decision by Colt Howell at 145lbs. Byron Sigmon (152lbs) added to the score with another pin for Bandys. At 160lbs Chris Chapman then scored another decision for Bandys. This was followed by another Trojan pin from William Gilleland at 171lbs. Taylor Jackson kept Bandys on a roll at 189lbs with a hard fought decision. Markley Morrison scored Bandys last pin at 215lbs. The last match of the evening went to West Lincoln when Clay Hefner scored a decision at 275lbs. This made the final score at 49 - 15 in Bandys favor. Bandys (11-1)
will travel to the East Mecklenburg Invitational Friday. The 24-team tournament
will begin Friday evening and end Saturday
