Cary did reign supreme at the dual finals of 4-A. It was an exciting match with close individual matches all the way through. Cary jumped out to a 18-0 lead that could not be overcome.
Robertson got them started with a pin and Jones followed with a 5-0 decision over Hodge. After a 7-4 win at 121 and a pin by Rosemond at 127, the match seemed over.
However, Orange made a move starting with Horne at 132. A decision win there and another one at 137 closed the gap. A decision loss in a close match at 142 increased the lead, but Jason Wilson came out and dominated to again close the gap a little.
Interesting note here... It looked as if Shriner wanted to match up Walton and Wilson. However, Walton weighed in at 154. With Wilson at 147, Orange was forced to forfeit at 154. Cary sent out a usual non-starter out for the forfeit. Walton moved up to 162 but was defeated by Crisp.
At 173, an overmatched Sikoski merely avoided being pinned against Chambers. With Orange still needing to win at 191, Breitenbach won by pin over Carr. Cary forfeited the last 2 weights to win the state with a 33-30 victory. It was a great match.
