GASTONIA -- Ashbrook claimed its first MEGA 7-4A conference title in three years as the Green Wave rolled over visiting Vance 46-21.

``This is real special for the kids because things have been down the last couple years,'' Ashbrook coach Cain Beard said. ``It feels kind of good to be back up.''

After splitting the first eight matches, Ashbrook won five of the last six matches to claim the victory and remained undefeated in the conference at 6-0. The Green Wave improved to 13-10 overall.

DALLAS -- North Gaston clinched its seventh straight conference crown by downing the Hilltoppers, as five different Wildcat wrestlers registered pins.

``Our balance has been the key,'' North Gaston coach Kevin Dotterer said of his team, which is 19-0 this season. ``We are good from top to bottom. We can beat you in every weight class.''
