GIBSONVILLE - Western Alamance plummeted host Eastern Guilford 60-15 in a Mid-State Conference wrestling meet Tuesday night.

Rudy Mitchell remained unbeaten at 24-0 at the 130-pound weight class. Jason Vaughn of Western Alamance (17-2 overall, 4-1 Mid-State) in the 135 weight class pinned his opponent in the second period. Jeff Davis of Western picked up the quickest pin with a 28-second fall at heavyweight. "We did a pretty good job," Western Alamance coach Gary Westbrooks said. "I am proud of the guys. They showed a lot of heart. Patrick Manning at the 145 weight class won his first career match as a Warrior. We are just getting ready for the individual conference tournament that takes place on Saturday."

REIDSVILLE 54, EASTERN ALAMANCE 30:

At Reidsville, Eastern Alamance didn't pick up the Mid-State Conference victory, but had some good performances.

"I am very proud of them," Eastern Alamance coach Glen Terrell said. "The kids that got beat wrestled well and I am proud of them for that." Adam Ray, 125-pounder, posted the quickest pin of the night in 35 seconds for Eastern Alamance. At 130, Jimmy Zint of Eastern Alamance registered a pin.

"We gave up 42 points on forfeits," Terrell added. "Overall, I see an improvement in the team."
