Congratulations to Brandon Schweitzer of West Henderson High School. He became North Carolina's 6th ever Cadet Greco-Roman All American, placing 5th.    Congratulations to Lindsey Orabona, of Havelock, who earned All-American status by placing 4th. Other competitors from North Carolina included Jennifer Smith (Elizabeth City), Erin Murphy (Havelock), and Anna Matteson (Staley).

USAW Southeast Kids/Cadet Regional - May 27-29, Jacksonville  Florida

   NC Results


East Coast Junior Duals - May 27-28, Maryland

   Congratulations to the North Carolina team who competed at the East Coast Junior Duals. NC placed 4th in Freestyle, with wins over New Jersey and Connecticut, and losses to New York, Maryland and Pennsylvania. The team was 2nd in Greco, with wins over New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Virginia; only loss to Pennsylvania. Team members were: Nick Mayhew, Kane Long, Brandon Palmer, Greg Balch, Robby Fryer, Tyrone Hodge, Jermaine Hodge, Troy Simmons, Matt Oeser, Daniel Llamas, Drew Llamas, Joe Runkle, Sean Paez, Randy Corpuz, Mike Valldeperas, Josh Grindel, and Josh Triplett.


State Freestyle/Greco-Roman Championships - May 13, Wake Forest-Rolesville

USA University National Freestyle Championships - UNC's JohnMark Bentley places 5th at 152 lbs.

Saturday, April 8 - Lake Taylor HS, Norfolk, Virginia - prior to the Virginia Challenge, two VA middle school national teams competed against North Carolina teams. Results.

Congratulations to Riverside's Brandon Palmer and his brother Colton, who competed at the Reno World Championships. Brandon went 5-2, placing 5th out of 76 wrestlers at 115 lbs, and Colton was 3-2, one match away from placing in the top 6 at 73 lbs.
