"And
God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more
death, sorrow, crying, or pain." - Revelation 21:4
"Blessed
are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." - Matthew
5:4
Hello
my friend we meet again,
it's been a while where should we begin
..... feels like forever
Within
my heart are memories
of perfect love that you gave to me,
I remember
When
you are with me, I'm free.....
I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly.
This brings tears to my eyes......
My sacrifice
We've
seen our share of ups and downs,
oh how quickly life can turn around in an instant
It feels so good to reunite
within yourself and within your
mind
Let's find peace there
When
you are with me, I'm free.....
I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly.
This brings tears to my
eyes......
My sacrifice
I
just want to say hello again
(turn
up the volume on your computer speakers
to listen to Creed's "My Sacrifice")

Jared
Hogan passed away on Friday morning, November 26, 2004, a week
after being severely injured in a car accident. Jared was a 2
time state champion from East Gaston (Class of 2003). Condolences
to the Hogan family can be sent care of Coach Scott Goins, East
Gaston High School, 1744 Lane Rd, Mt Holly NC, 28120, or via
email at coachgoins@egwrestling.com
There
is a page set up at Everlasting
Memorial where you can view Jared's memorial and submit a
tribute.
I
know that those of us who knew Jared will always remember his
smile. His win in the state finals as a junior in 2002 was
certainly one of the most memorable victories I've ever seen,
and I will always remember the joy in his face when he fell
to his knees on the mat after he won. It's an image that has
stayed with me for 2+ years, and it is how I will always remember
him. (and of course I'll never forget Romeo & Juliet either)
My
prayers are for Jared's family, and my heart is with the Warriors
as I know they will honor his memory through their performances
this season. I know that the entire NC wrestling family is
praying for all of you. |
 Jared Hogan Memorial Scholarship Fund
In
January of 2005, a group of about 20 East Gaston wrestling parents,
past and present, started a scholarship fund in Jared's honor.
The goal is to raise enough money to fund a yearly $500 scholarship
in Jared's name.
Through
a small group of dedicated people, the scholarship fund reached
over $5000 in May 2005. Some of this money came from a golf outing
and various booth sales at the school, but it has mainly come
from individual donations. At the 2004-05 wrestling banquet,
the Hogan family selected Rob Tate as the first recipient. $500
from the fund will go towards Rob's education at Gardner Webb
University.
Jared
was a special young man who made an impression on everyone he
knew. Through this scholarship fund, the East Gaston Warrior
Wrestling Family and NC Mat hope that his spirit will live on
and be able to touch lives for many years to come. We are asking
everyone in the extended wrestling family to contribute to the
Jared Hogan Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Donations
can be sent to:
