News & Results

Many former North Carolina high school standouts competed in the various collegiate national championships, culminating with the NCAA Division I National Championships. 21 wrestlers that either compete for colleges located in North Carolina, or wrestled for North Carolina high schools, participated, and 3 earned All-American status.

• Representing the North Carolina high school scene was Missouri's Raymond Jordan, a 3x state champion from New Bern, NC. Jordan won both of his matches this morning to finish in 3rd place.
• Pulling off a huge upset at 149 was Darrion Caldwell of NC State, defeating Iowa's #1 Brent Metcalf by a final score of 11-6.
• Konrad Dudziak, the first All-American in Duke history, finishes as the National runner-up after dropping a 3-2 decision in the tiebreaker overtime to Missouri's #2 Mark Ellis.
