About the Elite 10

As some of you may recall, from 2000-2004 NC Mat provided team rankings called the Elite 10. In the first few years, the Elite 10 was purely a "tournament team" ranking, with teams getting points based on individuals ranked in the Super 32. The rankings then evolved to incorporate an additional dual team ranking, which was based on a poll open to voting by coaches, officials, and media. In 2005, the Elite 10 was discontinued as we could not find volunteers to help keep it going.

Now, with special thanks to two volunteers, we're bringing it back. Joe Shively, Sr has volunteered to calculate the "tournament" rankings from the Super 32, and Joe Caprino is helping to develop the poll system.

The "Dual" rankings poll will be open to coaches (one per school), officials, and media. The poll system should be ready to go in the next few days, but those who wish to go ahead and get registered to vote should email me at sara@ncmat.com with your name, school (officials include your association, media include your outlet), email address, and password that you wish to use. Once the poll is set up, you will receive an email with instructions on how and when to vote. You may vote in all classifications, or just your own.
