Title IX

It is absolutely crucial that everyone within the wrestling community contact their Congressman during the next week and determine the Congressman's exact position on proportionality. They are either for it or against it. Do not let them equivocate.

Try to get educated as best you can. If you run into any questions you can't handle, put them in my box, and I will respond to them. Please contact me at my box by the end of next week with your Congressman's response.

Time is obviously of the essence, so it's okay to just call (on Monday) the staffer assigned to Title IX issues (don't talk to females staffers though - not one of them I've ever met opposes proportionality and they'll usually throw up all kinds of roadblocks). Ask the staffer for the Congressman's position. They'll probably have to call you back. If they don't get back to you by Wednesday, call the staffer back. (Obviously if you can talk to the Congressman him/her self, so much the better). Try to get something in writing too (later) if possible.
