Title IX
I have received several important questions about my request that you all
find out about your Congressman's position on proportionality. There are
several reasons that I need to know this. But let me explain the most
immediate.
- Brown's brief directly attacks proportionality.
- I need to know exactly who opposes proportionality, so that I'll be able
to contact them to sign an amicus brief asking the Supreme Court to take the
case.
- The US Supreme Court takes only 3% of the cases appealed.
- If we can get 100+ Congressmen to sign a brief, the odds of the Supreme
Court's being willing to take this case increase measurably.
PS - Every Congressman (and even every feminist) ought to want this case to
go to the Supreme Court and get settled once and for all whether
proportionality is constitutional. So that's a good reason for Congressmen to
sign our brief even if they support proportionality. That's all the brief
really says anyway.
