Title IX

So far the response to my request to all of you to contact your Congressman has been fantastic. Thanks to all of you who have already contacted your representative.

We will contact those Congressmen whom you indicate might agree to signing our friend-of-the-court brief. We will have to file the brief with the Supreme Court by March 17.

If you have not contacted your Congressman, please, please do it. Find out

1. his/her position on proportionality and

2. whether he/she will sign the amicus brief.

When I get all the information, I will get back with you and tell you how we did. I am working with a lot of other coalitions on this, so don't feel like we're alone. I'm hoping that we will have 50-100 contacts to every Congressman we're focusing on before the end of the week.
